This example was inspired by the latest Disquiet Junto in which the prompt is: Record a piece of music that consists of nothing but held tones of varying lengths that start and end suddenly and that overlap as the piece unfolds.
By using the sustainer on the Cycfi Thor guitar, low pass gates are sequenced to create blips of notes of varying length that intersect in different ways. I am using the SpiderCapo and letting all strings sustain as I change chords.
Patch notes (both paths recorded directly with no additional processing)
Path 1 has the Hex Fuzz outputs going into 6 low pass gates, which are then fed into the input of the Hex VCF. I am then sequencing 6 ASR envelopes of varying attack/release using Knit Rider. The 6 Knit Rider voices have different sequences and different sequence lengths to create polymeter. Knit Rider is clocked at a slow rate via ochd LFO (which is also self modulating). The hex output is then panned across the stereo field.
Path 2 has the mono mix of Hex Fuzz going into a VCA (controlled by another ochd LFO output), which is then going into the Milky Way tape echo effect.
