Godin LGX-SA Pickup Upgrade (Part 1)

Hello hex-guitar friends! I wanted to share a recent project upgrading an older Godin LGX-SA with a SynQuaNon hexaphonic humbucker. This particular 1998 Godin was an eBay find, and unfortunately the hex-piezo output was miswired - which made it a perfect candidate for this project. I wanted to replace the hex-piezo output with hex-humbucker output.

I selected the hex distortion pickup with clean hex outputs for the bridge pickup. Peter recommended switching to a solderless EMG wiring setup, and that made it pretty easy to integrate a selector switch, volume control, EMG 60A (neck pickup), and stacked pots for distortion control. I swapped out the original RMC preamp board for a GK board,

I made some custom pickup rings, jack plate, and back plate on my 3D printer in PETG (using TinkerCAD to create the models). 

It's been fun going further down the rabbit hole of per-string panning and processing - I hope to post some audio soon. I recently added the hex fuzz expander module to my setup and have been enjoying the tone-playground it provides!
