16-pin GK Guitar Upgrade Bundle with Adapter Box
Everything you need to convert your GK guitar to 16-pin
Overview:
The 16-Pin Guitar Upgrade Kit moves your 13-Pin GK guitar into the 21st century!
Historically GK-3 and 13-pin jacks & cables have fragility, grounding and noise issues detrimental to live performance. The 16-pin upgrade eliminates all existing issues with robust jack & plug designs.
Guitarists with multiple 13-pin guitars may not want to switch to the new BOSS serial system due to cost and other issues, or may want to continue to use proven 13-pin synths without serial-analog conversion.
The upgrade kit consists of the following:
-
16-Pin guitar connector with cable assembly, plug and play for GK-3 Internal Board
-
16-Pin guitar cable, available in different lengths
-
16-Pin to 13-Pin Adapter Box
The 16-pin guitar connector with cable assembly is made by Synth-Linx and is also a direct replacement for Synth-Linx 13-pin GK-3 internal installations. It is also available in custom lengths for DIY new GK-3 internal kit installations.
The 16-pin guitar cables are available in 3-, 5-, and 7-meter standard lengths with option for right-angle plug at guitar end. Custom lengths are available.
The 16- to 13-pin Adapter Box fits on a pedalboard for interfacing with existing GK synths using a short length of 13-pin cable.
Connector mounting plate Information (refer to image 2)
SL16PDH and SL16PDV have the same diamond shape as Synth-Linx 13-pin connectors.
SL16PRH and SL16PRV have the same screw centers as the OEM curved plate in Roland Ready and Fender GC-1 guitars. These need to be pre-curved before mounting on the guitar.
You need M2.6 x 8 (black) self-tapping screws to attach it to the body, using the original holes in the guitar - these are so close to the edge of the main hole that you will split the wood if you try to ram in M3 screws.
SL16PRRR/C1H and SL16PRRR/C1V are QUITE A BIT bigger (by design) to cover situations where the original fixing holes in the RR /GC1 body have long since almost crumbled away because of the inherent lack of wood around them in the first place.
These larger plates are designed as the life-saving exercise to bring a RR/GC1 body back from almost the dead and make the whole situation workable again. They are larger in two dimensions to cover up the previous mess.
They also need to be pre-curved before mounting in the guitar; since new screw holes need to be pre-drilled into the guitar to mount these larger plates, we can use M3 screws.
