Our 16-pin connector-and-cable assemblies are provided with appropriate length cables and multiplugs to suit the following applications:
1 - the new or existing installation of a GK3 internal pickup kit in any guitar. The assembly for this application is available with 3 different cable lengths to cater for different distances in some guitars between the connector and the pickup mainboard;

2 - a retro-fit to a Roland-Ready or GC-1 Stratocaster with a specific cable length;

3 – a retro-fit to a GR-55 or GP-10 synth unit with a specific cable length. These assemblies suit the 16-Pin Guitar Cable connection directly to either of these synth units. Our 16-to-13-pin Adapter Box is not needed to achieve this connection. Please note that our Converter Box can be custom configured to be compatible with this type of installation, if you want use its extra features.
We’ll be providing a lot more detail on all this in a future post!
KEY FEATURES
1 - all assemblies have a high-quality, flexible, screened 16-core cabling;
2 - all cable ends have multiplugs that fit the appropriate sockets on the guitar or synth circuit boards;
3 – importantly, all assemblies have their Ground circuit dedicated internally to the Pin-16, not externally to the cable screen as in all current Roland 13-pin systems. This key improvement guarantees performance reliability.
4 - all models provide 14 specifically connected conductors in the 16-core cable and 2 that are set aside for optional extra uses beyond the standard 13-pin system. These 2 conductors are terminated in additional Dupont female connectors at the multiplug end of the cable. This allows easy access to these circuits between guitars, synth units, etc. for further customisation.
5 – all connector-and-cable assemblies include required fixings and full instructions.
YOUR INSTALLATION
Making room
An important added feature of our connector-and-cable assemblies for new guitar installations requires only a 16mm round hole in the guitar body to accept the outer casing of the female connector.
Sufficient free length is included at the inner end of the attached cable so the multiplugs can be passed through that same 16mm hole and then connected to the internal electronics of the guitar.
Mounting plates
Our LEMO-style 16-Pin connector is designed as a panel-mounted unit - it mounts through a Double-D profile panel opening. Accordingly, we’ve produced optional anodised aluminum mounting plates designed to accommodate different guitar installations.
Each mounting plate is available with a vertical or horizontal center Double-D hole to allow the 16-pin connector to be oriented in an exact way. This is an important feature when using a right-angle male connector plug on a Guitar Cable.
Our range of mounting plates includes:

1 - a diamond-shaped plate with mounting-hole centers matching the mounting points of an original Roland plastic jack;
2 - a rectangular plate with dimensions and mounting-hole centers matching those on an original, guitar-based, Roland jack plastic mounting plate;
3 - a larger, rectangular plate with mounting-hole centers that are expanded to avoid the original mounting points on Roland-Ready and GC-1 Stratocasters. This plate model specifically addresses the problem of original Roland mounting points that have been destroyed or damaged beyond repair. This situation is often due to the failure of the original Roland jack plastic mounting plate.
All our Guitar connector-and-cable assemblies can be ordered with any one of our mounting plate options included in the basic unit price. However, different extra mounting plates can be supplied (at a slight additional cost) to enable changing future uses of your chosen assembly.
For GR-55 and GP-10 synth unit installations, the appropriate 16-pin connector-and-cable assemblies are each provided only with the diamond-shaped mounting plate. In these cases, this plate is also fitted with two M3 ’Nutserts’ that match the centers of the 13-pin jack mounting-holes in the synth unit chassis. Since this assembly will be fitted from the inside of a synth unit’s casing, it will require just some basic dismantling of the chassis to achieve a good installation.
GREAT RESULTS
Our simple upgrade gives you the major benefits of a secure, reliable, stage-proof 16-Pin solution to overcome the fragility of the original 13-pin system of guitar-to-synth connections.
All our guitar-based connector-and-cable assemblies provide a simple bolt-in, plug-&-play operation for retro-fits.
Our assemblies also can become part of a modular system which may be progressively built to suit the changing needs of any individual musician.
This kind of control and performance reliability has been a while coming….and now it’s here!
