Steve Hackett has continued to hold the original Genesis songs high with his Genesis Revisited concert series. The band is absolutely superb, dare I say better than the original Genesis. On this occasion, they are playing with an orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall.
Firth of Fifth is a brilliant composition to begin with - the addition of the orchestra puts it in a whole other class. Over the years Steve has perfected his guitar technique and demonstrates his skills in what could be called one of the most beautiful solos ever. Watch as he blends infinite sustain, swells, slide, legato, vibratos, tapping tastefully, not to impress with speed or skill, but to evoke emotion. Enjoy!
