Pickup Cables for Hex Distortion Pickups
Connect to GK-3 Internal Board for Pitch Detection or to Cycfi Research Nu Multi Internal Board for Single-string Processing
Cable for Hex Clean Output to GK-3 Internal Board
The SynQuaNon Hex Clean Output Pickup (Blue PCB) has an active polyphonic design using twelve individual string coils arranged in six humbucking pairs. The individual string outputs are routed separately through dedicated two-stage voltage-
controlled distortion circuits.
This approach creates a unique distortion sound full of rich harmonics and devoid of the usual distasteful intermodulation distortion in typical mono pickups. The six distorted signals are summed in an output mixer amplifier for the final mono
output via an EMG-compatible header; the six clean coil signals are buffered and made available through the 10-pin HEX COILS OUT header for processing by BOSS/Roland GK Synthesizers.
Cable for Hex Distorted Outputs to Cycfi Research Nu Multi Internal Board
This cable is designed exclusively for use with the SynQuaNon Hex Distorted Output Pickup (Red PCB). The individual distorted string outputs. are buffered and made available through the 10-pin HEX DISTORTION OUT header for single-string processing.
The Cycfi Research Nu Multi Internal Board (or equivalent) is recommended to route the signals via a 19-pin guitar cable into a SynQuaNon 19-pin Input Breakout module for subsequent processing in Eurorack format or out into a DAW. Alternatively one can use the Cycfi Research Nexus Breakout Box to connect to a computer via an audio interface.
